October 2017 update:

Hello Mr. Herzberg,

How are you? I know we haven’t spoken in a little while, and I apologize for that. As you know I’m currently attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland. My grades are pretty steady so far and I’m enjoying most of my classes. I’m making a lot of friends and am really enjoying myself.  I don’t know if I had told you but I’m on the tennis team here. We had a very short fall season that we just finished. My parents are here visiting today for Hawktoberfest (parents weekend). We all are thinking of you especially today. We are praying you are surrounded by friends and family. We are so grateful for your perseverance and desire to share your love for Eric by supporting others in his honor.

Sincerely,
Cooper Clark

Hi Cooper – we are so glad to hear you are adjusting to campus life.  I didn’t know you played tennis or I would have invited you to play.  Maybe at a future date.  Thanks you for your kind words about Eric – we had a nice visit at Arlington on Saturday with some dear friends who drove up from Florida just to spend the weekend with us.  Many blessings to you – keep up the good work!

May 2017 update:

Dear Eric Herzberg and Family,

It was a thrill to receive your letter yesterday evening! I am honored to be chosen as a recipient of the 2017 Eric Herzberg Memorial Scholarship. I am looking forward to meeting you on Thursday, May 18th, at 6:00 pm outside the Severna Park High School auditorium. My guidance counselor is aware that I will be attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland and I will verify that she has what she needs for sending the funds to the financial aid office. I will be happy to keep in touch with you as I progress through my schooling and plans. Until we meet in person, I am enclosing some of my NJROTC senior pictures to help you get a visual for the person you have blessed.

Thanks again,
Joseph Cooper Clark
