August 2015 Update:

Dear Herzberg Family,

Words cannot begin to describe how thankful I am that your family has continued this amazing scholarship opportunity. As I’ve matured over the last four years, I truly realize just how much your family has contributed to my success. Your family’s faith has given me inner strength and sense of balance in life. Every chance I have, I pray for Eric and the Herzberg family. Although it has been awhile since the last time we’ve talked, here’s a wonderful update on the motivation Eric and your family has given me to achieve the goals I have set!

I recently received my Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from Towson University, having graduated with a GPA of 3.47. While attending Towson University, I devoted my time training and leading Towson’s Club Wresting as a team captain from September 2011 to August 2013. Due to an injury, I decided to step away from the wresting program and joined the Kappa Sigma Mu Sigma Chapter of Towson University. One reason I have joined Kappa Sigma was I found their Military Heroes Campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition, I joined Kappa Sigma since this organization’s views are grounded in Christian beliefs. As the Head Recruitment Chair for Kappa Sigma, our chapter successfully recruited over 55 members during three semesters.

I applied the academic training I received from Towson during an internship with the Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI). Working with RESI provided me with valuable knowledge and skills necessary to work in a professional setting, apply my education to real work, and add value to each project. After graduation, I received a job offer working as a Research Analyst for Exeter Associates Inc. in Columbia, MD. Overall, I plan to attend graduate school for a Master of Science in Applied Economics. This scholarship and your family’s support will continue to contribute significantly towards my future goals. Thanks again for your generous support and I’m excited to hear from you!

Sincerely,
Nicholas DiSanti

P.S:

Mike and I were wondering when your family would be available to schedule a trip to catch up. Thank you for passing on your belief in greater things that are entirely out of my control.

Psalm 23:1-6

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

June 2013 update:

Dear Herzberg Family,

Oh how we miss you guys and boy do we have a lot to catch up on! So starting off with school in the fall I received a 3.4 for the semester but do not fret I received a 3.8 for the spring overall my GPA is 3.623. I joined kappa sigma a wonderful fraternity founded on Christian beliefs! This fraternity instills the importance of diligence and commitment to school, community, family, and to God. While the year was fun and successful,  there were some downsides. We lost two good friends of ours.  Taylor Wild, an honorable man who served in the Marines to protect this wonderful country we live in and to protect its people. He lost his life giving his service to our country and we will never forget him. It sheds a new light on how important those people are and to thank those in the military every day and pray for them as well. I still pray for Eric and I am so grateful to wake up everyday and dedicate my life to bettering our world just as he did. We also lost another friend this year. He took his own life jumping off the bay bridge. It had been an extremely rough year but through all this it makes us stronger and as a result makes us appreciate the life God has given us. On a brighter note I just received an internship with my mom’s audiology practice and am excited to pursue that. We must have dinner in the near future so I can tell you all this wonder full news over dinner! Miss you all hope all is well!

Love Michael and Nick DiSanti

March 2011 update:

Dear Mr. Herzberg,

Just wanted to see how you and your family was doing! This past semester has been a very sucessful semester for myself and my brother. I received a 3.25 GPA and I am expecting to receive a 4.0 for this semester. My brother was on the deans list and received a 3.8. Wrestling was going very well untill I had surgery on my deviated septom this past friday during spring break. Once the surgery was finished, the doctor found out that I had broken my nose in three different places. Haha it was a very interesting surgery but I feel a lot better and I am almost 100%. We were thinking once we get out of school if we could make a trip up to see you all and catch up. I think that would be a wonderful time! I also was wondering where we should post our information on the website this past semester. Hope you all are having a wonderful year and we can’t wait to see you.

Sincerely
Nicholas DiSanti
