These can include recreational leagues. List any awards you may have received. - Please provide a statement of you and your family’s need for this help and your
current plan for funding your education.
I. Essay
Develop an essay (at least three typewritten, double-spaced pages) that will demonstrate:
- Your knowledge of Lance Corporal Eric W. Herzberg and his character. This can
be based on first-hand knowledge, research on the internet and other information
sources, and/or interviews with family and friends. Eric’s internet site is
www.ericwherzberg.com. - Your definition of service and why you think it is important.
- Your plans to serve others during your senior year and following graduation.
- As a minimum in your research, watch and listen to the following three media links on
the home page of Eric’s web site:
“Thoughts on Eric – by Syndicated Radio Host Laura Ingraham”
“Memorial Day Concert 2007 featuring Eric and his Mother Gina”
“Message about Eric given to Cedar Ridge Church by Eric’s Father” - Include in your essay what you learned about Eric’s character and serving others by
watching and listening to these three items.
